Beyond the Workshop: Hoda Umbrella's 2025 Journey Through Sichuan's Natural and Historical Wonders

At Xiamen Hoda Umbrella, we believe that inspiration is not confined to the walls of our workshop. True creativity is fueled by new experiences, breathtaking landscapes, and a deep appreciation for history and culture. Our recent 2025 company trip was a testament to this belief, taking our team on an unforgettable expedition to the heart of Sichuan Province. From the ethereal beauty of Jiuzhaigou to the engineering genius of Dujiangyan and the archaeological mysteries of Sanxingdui, this journey was a powerful source of inspiration and team bonding.

Our adventure began amidst the majestic heights of the Huanglong Scenic Area. Located at an elevation ranging from 3,100 to 3,500 meters above sea level, this area is famously known as the "Yellow Dragon" for its stunning, travertine-formed landscape. The golden, calcified pools, terraced along the valley, shimmered in vibrant shades of turquoise, azure, and emerald. As we navigated the elevated boardwalks, the crisp, thin air and the sight of snow-capped peaks in the distance served as a humbling reminder of nature's grandeur. The slow, mineral-rich waters cascading down the valley have been sculpting this natural masterpiece for thousands of years, a patient process that resonates with our own dedication to craftsmanship.

Next, we ventured into the world-renowned Jiuzhaigou Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If Huanglong is a golden dragon, then Jiuzhaigou is a mythical kingdom of water. The valley’s name means "Nine Fortress Villages," but its soul lies in its multicolored lakes, layered waterfalls, and spectacular forests. The water here is so clear and pure that the lakes—with names like Five-Flower Lake and Panda Lake—act as perfect mirrors, reflecting the surrounding alpine scenery in stunning detail. The Nuorilang and Pearl Shoal Waterfalls thundered with power, their mist cooling the air and creating brilliant rainbows. The sheer, unspoiled beauty of Jiuzhaigou reinforced our commitment to creating products that bring a piece of such natural elegance into everyday life.

Descending from the high plateaus, we traveled to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System. This was a shift from natural wonder to human triumph. Constructed over 2,200 years ago around 256 BC during the Qin Dynasty, Dujiangyan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is revered as one of the oldest, and still functioning, non-dam irrigation systems in the world. Before its construction, the Min River was prone to devastating floods. The project, masterminded by Governor Li Bing and his son, ingeniously divides the river into inner and outer streams using a levee called the "Fish Mouth," controlling water flow and sediment through the "Flying Sand Spillway." Seeing this ancient, yet incredibly sophisticated, system still protecting the Chengdu Plain—turning it into the "Land of Abundance"—was awe-inspiring. It is a timeless lesson in sustainable engineering, problem-solving, and foresight.

Our final stop was perhaps the most mind-expanding: the Sanxingdui Museum. This archaeological site has fundamentally reshaped the understanding of early Chinese civilization. Dating back to the Shu Kingdom, around 1,200 to 1,000 BC, the artifacts unearthed here are unlike anything found elsewhere in China. The museum houses a collection of breathtaking and mysterious bronze masks with angular features and protruding eyes, towering bronze trees, and a stunning 2.62-meter tall bronze figure. Most striking are the massive gold masks and the life-sized bronze sculpture of a human head with a covering of gold foil. These discoveries point to a highly sophisticated and technologically advanced culture that existed concurrently with the Shang Dynasty but possessed a distinct artistic and spiritual identity. The sheer creativity and skill displayed in these 3,000-year-old artifacts left us in awe of the boundless potential of human imagination.

This company trip was more than just a vacation; it was a journey of collective inspiration. We returned to Xiamen not only with photographs and souvenirs but with a renewed sense of wonder. The harmony of nature at Jiuzhaigou, the ingenious persistence at Dujiangyan, and the mysterious creativity at Sanxingdui have infused our team with fresh energy and perspective. At Hoda Umbrella, we don't just make umbrellas; we craft portable shelters that carry stories. And now, our umbrellas will carry with them a little bit of the magic, history, and awe we found in the heart of Sichuan.
